Christmas @ Columba's

At year end school, community, and church celebrate Jesus' birth together. Each year, a wonderful Nativity and concert..... A total attendance of 1,300 to 1,500 at events and services.... (Eat your heart out, Richard Dawkins!)

And what one little boy called "Christingle-tingles"...

A Carol service, Christingle & Crib service and Communion are offered.

In 2007, as part of our Jubilee Year Celebration, we arranged a first Christmas Day Event for those who would otherwise be alone, together with other Corby churches and voluntary & statutory agencies, held at the Epiphany church, Corby....... Almost 50 guests and helpers sat down to lunch together, played bingo and had a visit from Santa, and our bishop came and stirred the gravy for us!! We were glad when the 2008 and 2009 repeat events grew, with almost 70, then over 80, guests and helpers taking part!

Last year - 2010 - circumstances required a break in tradition, but plans & preparations are in place now for 2011, which will be taking place at St. Columba's Church Hall in Studfall Avenue.. More later.. Return to picture galleries
