Responsibility Groups
Whoever we are, whatever we've done, God welcomes us. Relationships matter to him – and to us, too. We prioritise the building of relationships through 'R
esponsibility Groups'.
Everyone in the church is included in a Responsibility Group, whatever our age and how involved in the life of the church we are.
Most groups include children as well as adults; some even include people who wouldn't say they're Christians yet!
Each group seeks:
- to encourage one another in our life of faith
- to develop ways of caring for each other
- to pray for ourselves and others
- to enable group members, who wish, to meet together regularly
- to be 'responsible' one for each other

There are currently eight groups, and most attending members have opted to meet fortnightly in different homes, although one of the groups regularly meets in the church for breakfast followed by bible study, and is part of our 'community presence'.

Group meetings are typically a dozen or so church members who commit to supporting each other and those who do not attend, and together seek to put their Christian faith into practice.
Their programmes vary, according to the character of the group and whatever the church has agreed, but most meetings will include a mixture of social time, bible exploration, and some prayer together both for the concerns of group members and for the needs of the wider community.
Responsibility groups can provide an opportunity to develop close friendships with a small number of people, and to take real steps forward in the Christian life.
