St Columba's Corby

Open to God... open to you

Letter from Ian 20th June

Hello Everyone,

Happy Fathers' Day to all Dads reading this. I hope Dads are able to enjoy something special today, even though it won't quite be the usual day of get togethers. This week we have an All Age service for Fathers' Day and it actually comes in three parts, because having decided to use a youtube clip from Spring Harvest "Let's Shout Hooray for Daddies" we discovered it couldn't go in our Playlist, so there are three links below which you need to play in the following order to experience the full service:

Father's Day playlist 1:

Do stick with us - it will be worth it !!
Enjoy and Happy Father's Day to all you Father..,

It's Father's Day. That means different things for different people but we        all have a Heavenly Father. For more information about Bible Buds,              check out their website - Additional resources      for toddler groups can be found here

Father's Day playlist 2:

The second playlist, but the third part to our Father's Day family service! Enjoy ! :-)

The PDF version of the service includes a reflection from Sheila on Psalm 23 for these times in place of "Let's Shout Hooray..." Everyone may appreciate reading this, but especially if you have any difficulty accessing the youtube material.

This week's Energize material is also available for the three different age groups.

Next week Kevin Montgomery will be joining us as our new curate and I am hoping we will be able to have Zoom welcome next Sunday afternoon. I know PCC members all have Zoom but if anyone else would like to download it you can click on this link to download the free version Next week's email will include full details and an invitation to the Zoom meeting.

There is a Corby Mothers' Union meeting on Zoom next Saturday. If anyone is interested in taking part please contact Hilary Buckingham for details, or me if you don't have Hilary's contact details.

Please find below the link for the latest episode in the Tom Trowel story:

And some prayer news for you:
  • Ruby Kettridge is going to be in Glenfield Hospital for another few weeks being treated for an infection on her heart and then to have an operation to close a hole in her heart.
  • Joan Tyre is going to have a pacemaker fitted on Tuesday 23rd, please pray this goes ahead, is successful and that Joan makes a full recovery.
  • Janet Fordyce's mother, Pauline Mitchell, has been taken into hospital with a chest infection.
  • And Everlyn Britten's sister who had an operation a couple of weeks ago is now home and catching up on sleep - thank you for your prayers.

Can I say that if anyone would like to be able to pray on their own in church do let me know, this can be arranged if it would be helpful for you. And finally a big thank you to everyone who has found ways to donate money to the church - this is greatly appreciated.

With best wishes to all.
