Letter from Ian 25th July
Welcome to another weekend with warm greetings to you all. Thank you to everyone who has answered questions over the phone about restarting services in church, if you have not yet been contacted you might receive a call after church this morning. We are taking our time with this to make sure we do everything in the safest possible way, and in accordance with all the guidelines. These do change, so, for example, we now understand that face masks, which had been optional, should now be worn in church.
Thank you as well to everyone who has given money to the church. We are able to accept donations either in envelopes to the Vicarage, or by bank transfer to:
HSBC Corby, Sort Code 40-18-12
St Columba PCC Account No 31372947
Food Bank continues to be open in church every Wednesday, and donations can be taken there or to the Vicarage.
NEW WINE ONLINE - "United Breaks Out"
This event begins on Thursday evening this week and I do encourage everyone to watch as much as possible from then until it finishes on Monday 3rd August. All the details are on the outlined programme, the events will be released at the time indicated but will continue to be available on youtube after that. You will be able to find everything atnew-wine.org/breaksout
There is also a programme for children, with details at new-wine.org/UBOKids where you can also find details of a downloadable activity book and augmented reality app! The youth (11-18) activities can be found at weareluminosity.org PLEASE NOTE young people have to sign up for in advance for the Luminosity workshops on Google Meet at 1.30pm & 2.30pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday - you can do this by subscribing to Luminosity via the website & you’ll be sent an invitation.
PLEASE can I ask everyone who watches New Wine to make a note of anything that encourages or excites you, songs, teaching, anything - and be prepared to share that with the St Columba's church family for our service on Sunday 9th August (just as we did after Spring Harvest at Home).
This week's Energize resources can be found here. Because of New Wine's provision for children and young people there won't be any Energize resources next week.
Thank you Steve for once again coming up with some puzzles to keep us amused - these are here.
This week's service is Holy Communion filmed in St Columba's, so do have some bread and wine (or fruit juice) handy for the service. As ever a big thank you to all those who have taken part in the service in any way. There is the usual words-version and the youtube link is here:
God bless you all,
