Letter from Ian 9th May
Welcome to another Saturday epistle from the Vicar, I hope this finds you well, coping and supplied with all you need. Do get in touch if any of these are not the case for you. Please continue to remember Margaret Freeland in your prayers after Brian died on Thursday. Also please pray for Rosemary & Bob McSherry as Bob's father is in hospital and his mother, who has dementia, is struggling.
I hope you were able to watch some of the VE Day anniversary celebrations, maybe even join in some in your street. We are quite isolated from neighbours in the Vicarage, with churches on both sides, but see people in the flats above the shops when clapping for the NHS on Thursday evenings.
Our service this week has a VE Day anniversary theme, and thanks to Rosie for putting it together. There is a PDF (sorry I missed that off last week) and the youtube link is:
Also this week there is a prayer letter from Tim & Carol Derbyshire in Australia. As well as updating us on the implications of lockdown for their work with Hope from Above they report on the wonderful answer to prayer for the bushfires - it hardly seems possible that it was only a few months ago we were all thinking about bushfires not coronavirus.
This week's Energize resources are also available, along with a sheet of Extra Ideas that don't require any supervision (good for parents who have been busy home schooling!). (Editor's apology: the Extra ideas are not available on the website due to technical problems.)
Below is a link to the next episode of Tom Trowel's private eye story, thank you to David for his help in bringing Tom's stories to us!
And we have the latest instalment of puzzles from Steve - thank you Steve for these.
God bless you all,
